St. George Hotel

The St. George provides visitors with the unique opportunity to spend the night in the authentic gold rush town of Barkerville.

The rooms at the St. George have all been restored in 1890's style. There are seven rooms with either single or queen size beds with down duvets, three have private baths.

Valley View Bed & Breakfast

Campsites

Bear River Mercantile Campsites

Three acres of grassy flatlands overlooking Bowron Lake & River are open for public camping and picnicing. A very "modern" out house (with running water) and clean drinking water are available on site. Rates for camping are $15.00/night/vehicle which includes one nights wood. There are designated sites for tents and small trailers and a large open area for bigger motorhomes. A large group area is available by reservation for youth groups and family reunions for $2.50 a head (a group is 7 persons or more). Day picnicing is free. There is a charge for firewood. Bear River Mercantile also has pay showers and laundry facilities open to campers and the general public.

Becker's Lodge Campsites

Becker's Lodge has camping facilities for tents, campers and smaller motorhomes. They don't take reservations for campsites - just arrive. Some of the campsites have the lake view, others are in the trees. They have a large property and never turn away campers. Very large units may on rare occations not find space. Campsites start at $15 per night..

Bowron Lake Lodge Campground

Located right on Bowron Lake, the entire campground has an unrestricted view of the surrounding area.

With over 650 meters of private beach, the campground fronts on both Bowron Lake and the Bowron River. There are modern washrooms and coin operated showers. Campfires are permitted Community cooking areas provided. Pets are welcome. There are quiet secluded areas for individuals; or larger sites for the group that is traveling together.

Bowron Lake Provincial Campground

Located right on beautiful Bowron Lake is a 25 unit drive-in campground. The campground is located near the Registration Centre a short distance from Bowron Lake itself. There are also a few short walking trails nearby.

Reservations for the vehicle-access campground are not available. All drive-in campsites are on a first-come, first-served basis. Visit the BC Parks website for more information.

Forest Rose Campsite

Forest Rose Campsite, located centrally between Wells, Barkerville and Bowron Lakes, has 56 sites, 20 of the sites are "pull through" sites. There are flush toilets and showers but there is no electricity at Forest Rose Campsite.

All drive-in campsites are on a first-come, first-served basis.

Forest Rose is also a group campsite, and large groups wishing to stay in it must reserve it ahead of time by calling Debbie Jeffrey at 250-992-2901.

Government Hill Campsite

The Government Hill Campsite has 23 sites with pit toilets (outhouses) and potable (drinking) water. This site is not suitable for long units (RVs, fifth wheels, etc) due to the fact that it has no turnabouts.

All drive-in campsites are on a first-come, first-served basis.

Lowhee Campground

The largest campsite in the area, Lowhee Campground has 87 sites with flush toilets and showers. This campsite reserves 50 sites each night, and the remaing 37 sites are held on a first- come first-served basis.

The fee is $17.00 per night (prices subject to change), or reservations for Lowhee can be made for an additional fee by calling Hello BC at 1-800-435-5622, Discover Camping at 1-800-689-9025 or visiting the Discover Camping website.

White Cap Motor Inn Campground

Located in downtown Wells the White Cap campground operates year round. This includes firewood, Bar-B-Q pits, sheltered BBQ area, propane BBQs, and picnic tables.

The White Cap RV Campground has seven camping sites, and offers the following facilities: A playground for children, complimentary coffee in the office, year-round use of the outdoor hot tub, outdoor sheltered picnic area & fire pit, fire wood (free), propane BBQ ($ 5.00 for outside visitors), public laundromat, public showers in RV Park ($0.25 for 2 minutes), and public showers in laundry ($3.00 w/o towels, $4.00 with towels).

The lodge was built in 1933 as a "headquarters" for guiding outfitters.The lodge is situated on a bluff about 100 ft directly above Bowron Lake, with a fantastic view of the snowcapped Cariboo Mountains in the background.

Jack O'Clubs RV Park

Located in downtown Wells on the Barkerville Highway, the Jack O' Clubs RV Park is the newest RV Park in Wells.
